Special Olympics Unified Sports

Unified Sports is a project of the Special Olympics that joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same sports teams. In Unified Sports, teams are made up of people of similar age and ability. That makes practices more fun and games more challenging and exciting for all. Having sport in common is just one more way that preconceptions and false ideas are swept away. Through promotion, partnership and awareness, the Office of the First Lady is expanding Unified Sports opportunities in Utah by

1) working to introduce the program to additional schools

2) expanding the program to include more sports

3) partnering to host Unified Sports Experiences
