Bail Enforcement Firearms Instructors
All licensees wanting to carry a firearm in the performance of his or her duties shall complete an initial 16-hour firearms course and pass a shooting test. Upon each renewal or upgrade in licensure, complete an 8-hour firearms course and pass a shooting test.

The criteria to become an instructor are as follows:
- Certified Utah Concealed Firearm Permit Instructor in good standing with the Bureau
- National Rifle Association (NRA) certified instructor or Utah POST certified Firearms Instructor
- Displayed an interest to the Bureau in becoming a certified Bail Enforcement Firearms Instructor
