    Report to your local law enforcement agency if you are the victim of a cyber crime and experienced any monetary loss or damages. Be sure to receive a case number for documentation purposes.

  Report deceptive business practices, spam calls, and other consumer fraud. Federal Trade Commission Webpage

• If you need immediate law enforcement referral (state or federal), contact the SIAC at 801-965-3838.

   

• If you are considered critical infrastructure according to DHS, and need assistance in recovery- report an incident to US-CERT.
• If you have recovered from a cyber attack (such as DDoS, BEC, website defacement, ransomware, etc.) and would like to share indicators of compromise to help protect others, please report to the SIAC in addition to IC3.

• Report Identity Theft: IdentityTheft.gov provides streamlined checklists and sample letters to guide you through the recovery process.

   

• Do Not Call Registry: Remove your number from telemarketing lists. DoNotCall.gov

• Immediately gain control of your accounts if you can and change your passwords.
• Enable multi-factor authentication (send a PIN to an email address or phone)
• Inspect security settings and determine if there are any unknown devices logged in – if there are, log them out and change your password.
• Do not use the same password for different website applications. Some websites get breached and malicious actors will try to use those passwords for other services.
